University of Teramo

The University of Teramo has 5 Faculties, 16 Degree Programmes, more than 20 Masters, 6 Specialisation Schools and is involved in 10 research areas. The University of Teramo has two centres of excellence - dealing with law, politics and communication on the one hand, and with studies in agriculture, biology and veterinary medicine on the other. From such strong points, innovative educational paths have originated, also creating a link to the job market. University of Cagliari

The University of Caglari is a public state University and has about 31,102 enrolled students, over 1,000 teaching staff and more than 1,000 professionals at the technical-administrative staff. Besides that, yearly about 200 visting professors come to Cagliari’s University. At the moment the University of Cagliari is one of the largest enterprises in the Region of Sardinia, thanks to its international policy, studies and its numerous agreements with prestigious universities in Europe and around the world. Universidad de Burgos - ICCRAM - UBU | International Research Center in Critical Raw Materials for Advanced Industrial Technologies

Is a competence center of the University of Burgos that develops complementary research lines aimed at designing new sustainable materials for advanced technologies, addressing its impact on health and environment. The research encompasses four major areas:

  • Multiscale modelling. Expertise in modelling is oriented to the computational analysis of material properties regarding specific industrial needs as magnetism, conductivity, biophysical behaviour, etc. Projects related: NOVAMAG, DRYNET.
  • Material science. This research group performs the design and characterization of advanced materials, some coming from the multiscale modelling process. Improved innovative properties (temperature, coarsening or radiation resistance for example) are synthetized and then tested to improve the performance of new materials in the industrial market. H2020 Projects related to this area are ICARUS and NanoPieZoelecTrics.
  • Nano-Biotechnology. ICCRAM facilities allow to develop protocols to address the safety of new materials in terms of interaction with living organisms. ICCRAM is part of the Steering Committee of the Nanosafety Cluster. ICCRAM has a transversal activity in this field, including Nanosafety assessment in a wide range of both regional and European Projects.
  • Sustainability. ICCRAM’s core activities are related to Life Cycle Assessment, optimisation and resources efficiency and waste characterization. In this regard, ICCRAM has a wide expertise in Critical Raw Materials including substitution, optimization and recovery for the improvement to address the European current challenges related to sustainability. Additionally, previous collaborations with Burgos City Council allow us to include pilot demonstration in our projects.

Avantea is a laboratory of advanced technologies for biotechnology research and animal reproduction. The activity of this laboratory began in 1991 with Cesare Galli and Giovanna Lazzari. In 2008 it became Avantea Srl, inheriting all the skills and expertise built in about twenty years of activity and the know-how developed through years of research conducted in the biomedical and animal reproduction fields. Credibility and experience make Avantea a reliable and highly specialized center, which aims to find innovative solutions in the field of reproductive biotechnology for livestock breeding and biomedicine.

BioTalentum Ltd

BioTalentum Ltd is an RTD research intensive SME established in 2005. BioTalentum is a leading technology provider in Central & Eastern Europe, working mostly on stem cell research and services, with a branch on H2020 project management and trainings. Scientific focus of BioTalentum is on medical and animal biotechnologies, recently specialized on stem cell research. The company’s mission is research and development of novel human cellular systems and animal models for biomedical research and drug testing, and to provide technical services for research teams and pharmaceutical industry.

Institute of Agrobiological Sciences, NARO

The National Agriculture and Food Research Organization or NARO is the core institute in Japan for conducting research and development on agriculture and food. NARO overall mission is to contribute to the development of society through innovations in agriculture and food, by promoting pioneering and fundamental R&D. To this end, NARO conduct R&D to increase the productivity and safety of agriculture, and lessen production costs; and to promote new markets and future industries by developing value-added agricultural products, through incorporating market needs into respective products.

Chulalongkorn University

Chulalongkorn University (CU) was established in March 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) and named after his father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who had laid the foundations for modern education in Thailand. Currently, CU is composed of 19 faculties, 23 colleges and research institutes with over 37,000 students, including 24,620 undergraduates and 10,530 postgraduates (7,990 in the Master’s Degree and 2,540 in the Doctoral Degree programs), and over 2,800 faculty members.


IMAGENE was founded as a result of a project developed via the collaboration between the laboratories of the universities of Bordeaux and the CNRS, with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers in molecular biology, genetics and chemistry. The IMAGENE team has designed and developed an original technology for the dry preservation of DNA at room temperature upon DNA extraction and encapsulation in a corrosion-proof metallic capsule. IMAGENE has developed a production facility and organization to obtain, preserve and protect genotypes of all human, animal and vegetal species.

University of Modena and Reggio Emilia

UNIMORE has a longstanding tradition (it was founded in 1175) and is considered one of the best universities in Italy for teaching and research. It is ranked 2nd among public universities according to Italy's leading financial daily, and among the top 8 medium-sized Italian universities by the Times Higher Education Ranking 2011-2012. UNIMORE is composed of 14 Departments, offering a wide range of degree programmes at undergraduate level, right up to doctoral studies in most disciplinary areas, from the humanities and social sciences to engineering and technology, and from physical and natural sciences to medicine and life sciences.
